Due to extension of the current health orders restricting adult sports to February 5, 2021, the Board of Directors made the difficult decision on January 14 to close the club for the season.
Further news will be coming soon from the CCC Board after they have had a chance to review the current situation.
Hi Curlers,
We hope this finds all Curlers healthy, safe and full of New Year's resolutions.
Unfortunately the Provincial Health Office has extended the suspension on adult curling until at least February 5th. As a result, the Board would like to hear from you as to what we should do with the rest of the season. One option is to wait to hear on February 5th that hopefully we can continue curling with the plan that all leagues and playoffs will end by April 30th. Another option is to end the season now, and return to curling next season. Given the vaccines, we are hopeful that next season will be a much greater return to what we have come to expect from curling in past years.
Thank you,
Jos Strain
President

Good afternoon,
Curl BC has just confirmed that the most recent Provincial Health Regulations suspending adult team sport activities do include curling. Further, the suspension is effective immediately and has no end date at this time. Therefore, all league games and practice ice are suspended until further notice. A decision will be made shortly regarding little rockers and those affected notified directly.
While there is no end date to the suspension of curling at this time, and with Christmas fast approaching, it is possible that the Provincial Health Office may continue this suspension until the New Year. We will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
I apologize for the roller coaster ride that we have been on regarding the Club being open or closed. Our goal has been to keep curling going as far as is safely possible, while respecting that each of us will make decisions based on our individual comfort level. Hopefully these latest restrictions will get us to a place where once the suspension is lifted, curling can continue uninterrupted until the end of the season. Hope springs eternal!
I hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy.
Joe Strain, President

- Sanitize your hands immediately upon entering the club.
- Proceed into the lobby and change into your curling shoes.
- We MUST social distance while on the ice curling. Below is a short video made by the Delta Thistle club manager Patrick Pride. We thank Patrick for sharing. Click on the link and watch it. It is very enlightening.

Each league will received an updated draw this week.
Good evening,
We have just learned that a curler from the Friday night league has contracted COVID 19 and was likely infected when they curled last Friday night November 6th. In addition, this individual has been in close enough contact with staff for this to be a concern. All staff have been advised to obtain a COVID test as soon as possible.
Given the rapidly rising COVID cases in our community, combined with this case within our Club, we believe the only responsible action is to close the Club for 14 days commencing tomorrow, Tuesday November 10th. At this time curling is scheduled to re-commence on Tuesday November November 24th. We will provide further information as we get closer to November 24th.
The Club email will be monitored with some regularity during the closure. If you have any questions or comments, please advise by email.
